Dr. Michael Owen with DogDr. Michael Owen, our Chief of Staff, grew up in Odenton, Maryland, outside of Annapolis. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland and graduated magna cum laude from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine, where he was inducted into the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society. After graduation, Dr. Owen completed an Internal Medicine and Surgery Internship at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Owen's professional interests include dermatology, internal medicine, dentistry, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), and is a federally accredited veterinarian. He taught a veterinary assistant program at Chesapeake College, while he was an associate veterinarian in Easton for several years.

Dr. Jodi Edwards with CatDr. Jodi Edwards is from Knoxville, Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Dr. Edwards has been practicing veterinary medicine in southern Maryland since graduation. She joined Fields Road Animal Hospital in 2016. Her goal and passion has always been the "family doctor." With this in mind, her focus is on all aspects of preventive care, internal medicine, and feline medicine with a deep love of "grumpy old cats."

Dr. Edwards' other interests include running, hiking, and camping. She tackles a few marathons each year. She and her wife, Amy, live with their eight feline "kids."

Dr. Rachel Keller and a furry feline friendDr. Rachael Keller is originally from Baltimore, Maryland and she always knew she wanted to become a veterinarian. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Ursinus College, she earned a DVM degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 and spent her senior year in clinical rotations at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Since graduation, Dr. Keller developed her passion for preventive medicine while in general small animal practices in Baltimore, and then at a feline-exclusive practice in Northern Virginia. Her professional interests include diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, and feline medicine. One of her favorite parts of the job, though, is getting to know her clients!

Dr. Lazar with his DogDr. Tibor Lazar is a board-certified surgeon available to Fields Road Animal Hospital clients. He received his certification from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2003, following an intensive three-year surgical residency and a rigorous board certification exam.

Dr. Lazar performs many types of advanced orthopedic and soft-tissue surgeries, including cruciate ligament repairs, joint dislocation repairs and much more. Since 2002, he has performed thousands of successful surgeries on dogs and cats. He has the skill, experience, and credentials both veterinary hospitals and pet owners can trust, and we are happy to offer his expertise to our clients.
